We had our 30 week check up today and all is going very well. My health is good--doc says the swelling is quite normal and will only get worse with the hot weather just around the corner.
Our ultrasound showed Baby Currie measuring a little larger than 30 weeks, but they are keeping my due date the same. By measurements it shows he should be due around July 8th, by dates it is July 18th, so we are keeping the 18th.
Everything looks good and yes, he still has a big head! :-) Just to be on the safe side, we checked and YEP, he is still a boy! THe nursery can continue being completed as planned! He is in good position right now--his head on mommy's bladder, feet up in her rib cage--facing out, so the head shot we got is of his face w/his chubby little cheeks (I have to wait until next week to post the pics! Sorry!) Lets just hope he doesn't try flipping back around breech!
I have one shift left precepting and that is tomorrow--then I can say so long to nursing school! It has been a very long road and I am so happy to be able to walk across the stage next week!!
All for now--

Poole's Downtown Diner
Tired of all the same ole' boring dinner choices?? The Curries took EC and I out to eat on Friday pm to this place called Poole's Downtown Diner. Definitely different and somewhere I would recommend you to try!
It is located at 426 S McDowell St in Downtown Raleigh. If you aren't looking for it, you probably won't find it. It is actually an eclectic upscale diner / martini bar that serves a limited menu but boy do they have some interesting things on the menu! It changes all the time, so I am sure what we had won't be there when you go! Definitely something for everyone! They have things like fresh pimento cheese, prawns, fried green tomatoes, fried frog legs to your "norm" chicken, steak, salmon, etc. Sides are big enough to split between two people and I highly recommend the noodles au gratin (their take on mac n cheese). Since the menu always changes and what they call it on the menu doesn't necessarily let you know what it is, their awesome servers explain everything to you! I would also recommend trying one of their pies for dessert. We had the strawberry rhubarb pie and it was delicious! I hear they also serve an awesome Sunday brunch!

Happy Cinco de Mayo
Happy Cinco de Mayo! Hope someone out there is enjoying a few margaritas for me!
Nothing really new here. I went for my 3 hour glucose tolerance test on Friday. Had to be poked several times!! OUCH! Ladies couldn't find a vein several times which meant even more pokes! (I tell children all day everyday that it is just a quick pinch and the ouchie will be done....not going to tell that lie anymore! That really does hurt!) Anyhow, after everything is said and done the lovely nurse from my OB called me at work today to tell me that my tests were negative and there is no gestational diabetes here! Which is extremely good news, I was scared there for a minute! I can enjoy my drumstick ice cream treat again without too much of a worry!
House is quiet--Eric is traveling to Virginia for training with his new job this week. He hasn't been gone but 12 hours and it already feels like days. I don't do this time apart thing very well. He did however stock the house with tons of food and fluids and has left written instructions on the fridge to put my feet up and take care of "us". Gotta love him!! So....going to go enjoy some of mom's leftover spaghetti!
Hopefully EC will make it back home for a quick overnight stay on Wednesday since we get to see Baby Currie on ultra sound on Thursday. More updates then!
