Let's Go Hurricanes

On Tuesday pm, something unusual happened. We had a night off together!! We had a date night! Thanks to Mrs. Currie, we had tickets to the Carolina Hurricanes game and had a blast!! It had been years since I had been to a hockey game and I forgot how much fun they were! Yes, the Canes lost in a shoot out (by the way, I think is the lamest way to call a game after overtime!) But, best of all, Baby Currie would jump around after all the loud noises! Taking the evening to do something a little out of the ordinary, reminded me that is what we have to do even after the baby to keep the "fun" aspect in our relationship! Good thing we have so many interested prospects for babysitters!! hahaha!

Other than goofing off, we are up to the usual--work and school. Baby is doing great! Still tossing and turning, kicking and having a little party in mommy's belly. I precepted night shift last pm and I think he was a little confused. He usually sleeps most of the pm (for now!) but he was up with me all night last pm. Then the 2 of us have had a time trying to get some sleep today with it being sunny and 80 degress outside!!

Eric and I purchased the paint for the nursery and he should be starting on that soon. I will post pics as the progress occurs.

23 weeks

We went for a 2 week check last week and everything is looking good. We won't go back again for another 4 weeks but after that, we will become best friends with the OB, going every 2 weeks. Yeah! We are scheduled for a "growth check" ultrasound at 30 weeks and I think that is when we will go ahead and pay for our 4-D ultrasound. However, those things kinda scare me--they look so real!

Eric and I had off together last Friday and boy were we busy! We cleaned out our 3rd bedroom closet (things in there hadn't seen sunlight since we moved in here, almost 4 years ago!) and transferred things from the baby's room and cleared that out completely. Huge leaps for us! So, now we are organized and Baby Currie has a room! Eric even has tape on the floor outlining where he wants the crib, dresser and so on. It is funny when he goes "rearranging the furniture" up there every pm!! This was an eye opener for me for some reason--"like wow, there is going to be baby in here soon!" It is so nice to see how happy of a father Eric is already! He nor I can wait for Baby Currie to arrive, but he is so cute--I have really seen a "different" side of him--he will be in the baby's room throwing the ball around with the dogs, daydreaming of doing so with his son. So sweet.

This little bundle of joy has brought me "pregnancy induced" carpal tunnel. Right hand is worse than the left so I have a brace that I wear to keep the numbness and tingling away. Eric makes fun of me!

Other than that, not much going on. Both of us have been busy with work and me with finishing up school. May 15th-graduation is just around the corner and I cannot wait! With that being said, I did take a position as a RN with the Childrens Emergency Department of Wake Med and will start orientation stuff after I return from maternity leave.
